Coming here gives me energy.

2025 marks the 100th anniversary of Yukio Mishima's birth.

Mishima's life work, "The Sea of Fertility."

I believe this work is perhaps the greatest masterpiece in Japanese literature since The Tale of Genji. Of all Mishima's works, I believe this tetralogy is the one you should definitely read.

Above all, I love Mishima's personality and his elegant, polite, and sincere way of speaking.

My Montblanc fountain pen

The museum has a reproduction of Mishima's study. On his desk, you can see his favorite Montblanc fountain pen.

The fountain pen in the photo is a Montblanc pen, which I use to imitate Mishima. However, it is different from the one he used.

Both Mishima's and mine feature the Montblanc logo, the White Star.

I really like this logo, which represents the eternal snow that covers the peak of Mont Blanc.

The Sea of Fertility. I'm thrilled that scenes of Lake Yamanaka and its surroundings appear in the third volume, Temple of Dawn. I'm also delighted that the former Maeda residence in Kamakura (now the Kamakura Museum of Literature) and Yuigahama Beach are featured as important settings in the first volume, Spring Snow.
